This page provides a base where Records for the presence (or absence) of Irish Lady’s Tresses can be noted during the Summer of 2009. Records will be complied into a Distribution Map at the end of the season.
We intend to make a note of areas surveyed and the presence or absence of the species from new or existing locations. (See last years picture for an indication of where these areas are.) We would be very honoured if other people working around the Lake would again allow us to use and record their information as happened last year.
We would be glad, therefore, if anyone seeing this plant around Lough Allen (or adjoining areas) would contact Frances Farrell with details at 086 8162447 or by eMAIL. Records will be listed below so every one can see what ground has been covered and with what result. Because of high water levels this may be a difficult year for our cherished local rarity. Repeat visits may be warranted to allow for a delayed flowering season.
